Why Octanon Labs was founded.
In late 2024, our founder Abrham Asbe and our engineering collective realized that existing AI coding assistants were fundamentally flawed: they were built as web chat sidecars and glorified autocomplete extensions.
Developers spent more time copying, pasting, and fixing hallucinated syntax than actually creating systems. The industry treated AI as an insecure copilot, rather than an autonomous peer engineer capable of managing full-scale repositories, running test suites, and delivering verified production features.
We founded Octanon Labs to solve this foundational challenge: build a unified, native desktop software development environment where the AI agent and the IDE are a single, monolithic, sovereign entity.
